Training Facility Overview
Pleasant Hills Fire
Company trains often and trains hard. We have regular training sessions
from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
every Thursday evening. In addition to these regular drills, we encourage,
sponsor, and require further training. We require all firefighters take a
fundamentals class shortly after they join. Then, over a period of years,
firefighters are trained in several state certified classes to include
Structural Firefighting, Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, RIT, Hazardous
Materials, First Responder training and many more specialized training
classes. Our Tom Watts Memorial Training Center located at Mowry Park is
used often by our fire company and many surrounding companies to
keep firefighters trained in the latest fire and rescue procedures. The
training facility includes a Multi-Story Burn Tower with a burn room and an
upper level burn corner. The tower is used for rappelling, search and
rescue, firefighter survival, high-rise fire, and structural fire training.
The center also has a two story training shelter that has a realistic
residential set up on the second floor and a difficult training maze on the
first floor. There is also an underground confined space rescue area.
