
Building 46 - Split Floor
Maze and 2nd Floor Residential Set Up

Building 46 is a two story block and wood frame structure heated with a 100,000 BTU propane fired forced air furnace. The buildings first floor is split into a two-floor maze designed for beginner to intermediate firefighter training. The second floor is a residential set up for search and rescue training scenarios. The building is equipped with an in-house smoke generator for safe low to no visibility scenarios. The second floor also has a floor cut out for RIT training simulating a firefighter that has fallen through the floor. There are anchor points for rappalling from the second floor windows and for training with emergency escape devices. The building also has an attic access leading to an attic with rafters for attic fire training. The asphault shingled roof of Building 46 was constructed with a slight pitch and a replaceable ventilation panel for roof vent training.
