Confined Space Rescue Area 31

In 2000 through the combined efforts of the Borough of Pleasant Hills, DPW, and a State grant made possible by Harry Readshaw, PHVFC was able to build an underground confined space rescue facility.  It was designed specifically for the use of rescue tri-pods, stokes baskets, supplied air breathing apparatus, and other specialized rescue equipment for confined space rescue training.  The facility consists of several hundred feet of underground concrete pipe and junction boxes.  The pipe tunnels range in size from 48" down to 18" allowing for a wide variety of realistic confined space rescue training scenarios.  Air monitoring equipment and ventilation is used during training sessions to assure safe but realistic scenarios. We encourage company officers from surrounding departments and industry officials to use the facility.  It is sure to challenge your personnel with very difficult but necessary CSR scenarios.   You can request a time slot online by clicking the "Reservations" tab under the Training Center heading in the main menu.
